Looking Closer at Euro 2016 Teams and Kits

The fifteenth installment of the European Championship Tournament slated for this summer in France is sure to be one to remember for years to come. With the format expanded from sixteen to twenty-four teams, Euro 2016 will bring us more football than any previous European Championship tournament. The tournament begins on 10 June with the Final taking place at Stade de France on 10 July. Early favourites include Germany, Spain, France, and Belgium, but as Greece proved in 2004, any team to reach the tournament has the ability to shock the world.

Germany

The defending World Cup Champions are just as formidable as they were when they took home the World Cup Trophy in Brazil two years ago. With an abundantly talented squad including Thomas Müller, Mesut Özil, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mario Götze, Marco Reus, and the impenetrable Manuel Neuer it’s hard not to like their chances for a second consecutive major tournament victory.

Belgium

Euro 2016 could very well be the year that Belgium win their first major tournament in federation history. Ranked #1 in the world for the first time ever, their deeply talented and perennially improving squad could be on the verge of making history.

.

France

France look to build on their impressive World Cup 2014 showing by being the first host nation to win since they themselves did it in 1984. With the home crowd supporting them and a plethora of talented players France are definitely one to watch this summer.

Spain

The victors of the two previous Euro Tournaments, Spain are looking to make history with a third straight European Title. Their lack-luster performance at the 2014 World Cup brought an end to their global dominance, but expect a proud and determined Spain squad to be a formidable obstacle to any team looking to deny them their mark in history.

Other teams to watch will be England, Italy, Portugal and Switzerland, all of whom are ranked in the top fifteen. Did we leave your team out? No worries – it’ll all be decided on the pitch.
